Tommy was a curious boy who loved trying new things. One sunny morning, he opened the bathroom cupboard and found a small, shiny tube he had never seen before. It was called “Topsy-Turvy Toothpaste.”
“Hmm… I wonder what this does?” Tommy said, twisting the cap. He squeezed a little onto his toothbrush and brushed his teeth like usual.
Suddenly, Tommy jumped back and looked in the mirror. “Wha… what?!” His hair had turned bright green!
“Whoa!” he yelled, laughing so hard he almost fell over. “This toothpaste… it changes hair!”
Excited, Tommy brushed again. His green hair swirled and became pink. He brushed one more time… and now it was blue.
“Ha ha ha! This is amazing!” he laughed. His hair twinkled like a rainbow, bouncing as he shook his head.
Just then, Mom walked into the bathroom. “Tommy! Why is your hair… green?” she gasped, holding her hands over her mouth.
“It’s the toothpaste, Mom!” Tommy said, giggling. “It changes hair color every time I brush!”
Mom blinked. “Hair… what?!”
Tommy couldn’t wait to try it at school. He ran to the kitchen, brushed quickly again, and now his hair was bright purple with yellow stripes. “Perfect!” he said, admiring himself in the hallway mirror.
At school, Tommy’s friends stared in amazement. “Whoa! Your hair… it’s rainbow!” said Max.
“I brushed my teeth again!” Tommy said proudly. “And it changes every time!”
Max grabbed the toothpaste and brushed his own teeth. WHOOSH! His hair turned pink with green polka dots!
“Ha ha ha! Look at Max!” Tommy laughed so hard he nearly rolled on the floor.
Soon, the bathroom was filled with kids brushing their teeth and changing hair colors. Tommy’s purple hair changed to orange with blue stripes, then green with glittery streaks. Max’s hair became a swirling rainbow, and even some kids’ pets got a tiny dab of toothpaste, giving them funny colored fur.
“Look at Bella! She has pink paws!” giggled Mia.
The chaos spread quickly. During recess, kids ran around with crazy, colorful hair. Teachers couldn’t stop laughing when Tommy walked into the classroom with glittery green hair and blue polka dots.
“Tommy! What happened to your hair?” asked Miss Brown, the teacher, trying not to giggle.
“It’s… magic toothpaste!” Tommy said, twirling around. “Every brush… new color!”
By lunchtime, the entire school was filled with rainbow hair. Even the principal accidentally got some toothpaste on his hair, turning it bright yellow with pink streaks. Students couldn’t stop laughing.
Outside, the hair chaos spread to the playground. Dogs got toothpaste on their fur and ran around with orange tails and purple spots. Cats in the yards looked suspiciously at the children but eventually joined the fun, showing off glittery whiskers.
Tommy tried brushing again to fix it, but his hair turned into a rainbow spiral that sparkled in the sunlight. Max’s hair formed zig-zags, Mia’s had polka dots, and even the goldfish in the classroom bowl had a tiny rainbow shimmer on its scales!
Parents came to pick up their children and laughed so hard they could barely speak. “I… I don’t even know what to say!” Tommy’s mom giggled as she looked at her son’s purple and green striped hair.
By the afternoon, the town joined in. Someone accidentally spilled toothpaste at the park, and soon children and pets everywhere had crazy hair colors. People were laughing, running, and pointing at each other’s wacky hair. Tommy’s dog, Buster, got toothpaste on his tail and zoomed across the yard, leaving a rainbow streak behind him. Neighbors’ cats had stripes and spots of pink, green, and blue. Everyone was giggling, slipping a little on toothpaste splashes, and trying to look at each other without laughing too hard.
“This is the funniest day ever!” Tommy shouted. “Look at everyone!”
Eventually, Tommy realized that brushing more made the hair even wilder. He tried to calm everyone down. “Okay! Let’s stop! I think we’ve had enough colors!”
By evening, the toothpaste magic slowly wore off. Hair returned to its normal color, but everyone’s cheeks hurt from laughing so much. Tommy kept a little streak of sparkly blue in his hair, a reminder of the day’s chaos.
Mom shook her head but smiled. “Tommy… never brush that toothpaste again!”
Tommy winked. “Maybe… but just a little. For fun!”
That night, as Tommy went to bed, he glanced at the toothpaste tube in the cupboard. It shimmered mysteriously, almost like it was laughing.
“Hmm… maybe tomorrow I’ll just try one little streak,” Tommy whispered. He snuggled under the covers, smiling, and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of purple, pink, green, and rainbow hair everywhere.
And in the morning, the first thing he thought was: “What color shall I be today?”
