The Easy Lie

In a world where the air itself is poison, survival has a price tag. Seventeen-year-old Lane Daniels has four weeks before her crystal expires, four weeks before she becomes the thing she's spent her whole life fearing. With no options left, she enters the Trials: a government program that sends teenagers into monster-filled zones and calls it heroism.
She survives. That's when she realizes surviving was the easy part.
Now Lane is property of the Continuance Program, trained, ranked, and pointed at the Normal Trial. But the longer she stays inside the system, the more the cracks show. The monsters they're fighting aren't born. The crystals keeping humanity alive aren't what they claim. And the program that owns her is built on a lie so complete that knowing the truth might be more dangerous than dying in the zone ever was.
Borrowed Lives: The Easy Lie, because in this world, winning is just the first lie they tell you.
